Recently, Art & Home started publishing a regular series of articles celebrating beautiful things, including visually stunning interiors, and unique moments in nature. We nicknamed it “Beauty Tuesday” and started using the #BeautyTuesday Hashtag on Twitter and Pinterest.
I didn’t invent the #BeautyTuesday Hashtag. It’s been used – here and there – for quite a few years. Although based on the hashtag uses before this, it appears that most believe that anything related to “Beauty” falls into the category of fashion, hair, and cosmetics. I couldn’t disagree more. Beauty is everywhere. All you have to do is take a moment to see it.
Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
Beauty is not only in the eyes of the beholder, but the textbook definition of beauty is a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight.
Beauty is anything that enlightens the spirit, and is not limited to things that enhance the face.
For me, the #BeautyTuesday Hashtag applies to beautiful things, beautiful people, beautiful places, and beautiful moments. All things of beauty. It’s an online way to stop, take a moment, and appreciate beautiful things.
Those who find beauty in all of nature will find themselves at one with the secrets of life itself.
– L. Wolfe Gilbert
It doesn’t matter if one person joins in, or one million people do, I think it’s important to just take a moment and celebrate beauty in all its forms.
Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.
– Ashley Smith
For our purposes, we are using #BeautyTuesday to focus on beautiful homes, inside and out. But it can also be applied to Art, Fashion, Lifestyle, Travel… anything that “pleasures the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit.”
What I like about the #BeautyTuesday Hashtag is how it creates an easy way for people to see and appreciate beautiful things, in all their varying shapes, sizes, and forms.
Beauty is a harmonious relation between something in our nature and the quality of the object which delights us.
– Blaise Pascal
We – as a society – are often transfixed on the troubles in our world. Understanding these problems is an important step towards fixing them. But understanding and appreciating the beauty that surrounds us, every day, is equally as important. Perhaps more so.
Beauty is a nectar which intoxicates the soul.
– T.C. Henley
We hope you will join us in the #BeautyTuesday movement and help us rejoice in all of the beautiful things in our world. Or, at least, stop by and appreciate some of the truly beautiful things that are shared by others.
Let’s come together and celebrate everything that makes the world a more beautiful place.
I believe the world is incomprehensibly beautiful – an endless prospect of magic and wonder.
– Ansel Adams
